HISTORY

Import Existing Photos into JotCam

Import existing gallery or photo-library images into JotCam History and understand which original capture details cannot be added afterward.

SUMMARY

Open History, tap the import control, select one or more images, add an optional Report Note and tap Import.

Imported images can be included in the same organized History and export workflow as JotCam photos, but JotCam cannot recreate capture information that was not recorded when the original image was taken.

Import one or more images

  1. Open History.
  2. Tap the upload or import icon.
  3. Select one or more images from the device’s photo library or gallery.
  4. Add an optional Report Note.
  5. Tap Import.

The imported images appear in JotCam History.

Organize imported records

If an imported record is not placed in the intended Session:

  1. Press and hold the record in History.
  2. Select any other related images.
  3. Tap Move to session.
  4. Choose the appropriate destination.

Confirm the correct Project when Session names are reused across different field dates.

Add or edit an imported-photo note

Open the imported photo in History and use Add/Edit note. The Report Note is stored with the JotCam record and included in generated Field Report and Photo Log PDFs.

It does not alter the original image pixels.

Imported images can also be annotated through the available markup workflow. The annotation applies to the finished edited copy; it does not recreate the original JotCam capture stamp or missing capture metadata.

Understand imported-photo limitations

Imported images do not receive JotCam’s original live camera stamp or original JotCam GPS metadata.

JotCam cannot reliably reconstruct:

  • The live compass heading at the moment of capture
  • Coordinates that were never stored with the source
  • The original Project and Session context
  • A JotCam camera stamp that was not present when the photo was taken

Do not add unsupported location or accuracy claims to an imported image.

Use imported photos in exports

Imported records can be selected for supported PDF and CSV outputs. KMZ includes only records that have usable GPS coordinates.
