Open History, tap the export control, choose PDF, CSV or KMZ, select the records and Sessions, configure the available options, generate the file locally and share or save it through the device menu.
Open the export workflow
- Open History.
- Apply filters if the export should cover only part of the record.
- Tap the share or export icon.
- Choose PDF, CSV or KMZ.
Create a PDF
JotCam offers two PDF layouts.
Field Report
Use Field Report when the handoff needs a more detailed, report-style presentation with photo information and supporting context.
Field Reports can include Report Notes stored with the selected History records.
Photo Log
Use Photo Log when the handoff should be more compact and photo-focused.
Photo Logs can also include Report Notes while using a more visual layout.
Select and arrange PDF content
Within the PDF workflow:
- Select the Sessions or unsessioned photos to include.
- Turn Session Headers on or off as required.
- Drag Session rows to place them in the desired order.
- Choose Letter or A4 page size.
- Confirm the selected report type.
- Generate the PDF.
When Session names repeat across Projects, verify that each selected Session belongs to the intended Project and date.
Configure report details
In Settings, find the PDF export section.
Enter:
- Company name
- Inspector name
Enable Use custom logo to choose a PNG or JPEG from the device.
The logo appears in the PDF header. It is not burned onto individual photos.
Add Custom Report Fields
Create up to four Custom Report Fields when your work requires specific, structured field data beyond the standard Photo Note and Report Note.
Give each field a clear label for the information you need to collect. The completed fields appear as labelled entries in generated PDF reports and as separate columns in the CSV export. Recording the information once in JotCam reduces manual transcription when the field record is transferred into a report or spreadsheet.
Custom Report Fields are useful for consistent details such as an asset number, inspection status, deficiency category or corrective-action reference. Choose labels that match the requirements of the project rather than relying on a generic note for every value.
Export CSV
CSV places photo metadata into rows for use in spreadsheet software, archives or compatible data workflows. Each configured Custom Report Field is exported as its own column.
Review the file after export to confirm:
- Expected records are present
- Project and Session values are correct
- Notes and dates appear as expected
- Coordinate fields use the intended format
Export KMZ
KMZ creates geotagged photo placemarks for compatible mapping applications.
Only records with GPS coordinates are included. Photos without location data are omitted.
After opening the KMZ in a mapping application, confirm the placemarks appear in reasonable locations. Device-generated coordinates are contextual and should not be treated as survey control.
Share or save the export
After generation, JotCam opens the device sharing menu. Choose the intended storage location, email client or other destination.
Generating an export locally does not automatically upload it to a JotCam cloud service.
Check the final handoff
Before issuing a file:
- Open it
- Confirm the correct Project and Sessions
- Check the photo order
- Review Photo Note and Report Note legibility
- Check Custom Report Field labels and values
- Confirm the page size and logo
- Confirm no confidential records were included accidentally
