Use a Project Profile for the overall assignment, a Project for a particular inspection or work event, and Sessions for the sites or areas photographed inside that Project.
Understand the hierarchy
Project Profile
A Project Profile is the broadest grouping. It normally represents a job, client, property or long-running assignment.
Examples:
- Westview Tower
- Highway 2 Rehabilitation
- Client A Properties
- North Campus Expansion
Project
A Project represents one defined field event or reporting set within the Project Profile.
Examples:
- August 16 Site Walk
- August 23 Follow-up
- Pre-construction Condition Survey
- Final Deficiency Review
Session
A Session is a site, area, structure, discipline or photo grouping within a Project. Sessions are the “sites” used while capturing and organizing photos.
Examples:
- Tower A
- Tower B
- Parkade
- Mechanical Room
- South Elevation
Reuse the same Session names safely
Session names can be reused in different Projects. Each occurrence remains stored separately beneath its own Project.
For example:
- Project Profile: Westview Tower
- Project: August 16 Site Walk
- Session: Tower A
- Session: Parkade
- Project: August 23 Site Walk
- Session: Tower A
- Session: Parkade
“Tower A” on August 16 does not mix with “Tower A” on August 23. This allows consistent site names to be reused across repeated visits while preserving separate date-specific records.
A practical naming approach
Use names that remain meaningful after the field visit:
- Project Profile: stable job or property name
- Project: date plus purpose
- Session: repeatable site, structure or area name
Example:
- Westview Tower
- 2026-08-16 Weekly Site Walk
- Tower A
Starting Project names with an ISO-style date can help keep repeated visits in chronological order.
Create or select a Session
- Open Camera.
- Confirm the active Project Profile and Project.
- Tap the Session control below the project label.
- Select an existing Session, or enter a name in New session name.
- Tap the plus button to create it.
- Confirm the Session is active before taking photos.
Choose No session when the photo should remain outside a Session.
Manage Sessions
Depending on the available control:
- Use the pencil icon to rename a Session.
- Use the folder or move control to place a Session in the correct organizational group.
- Use the trash icon to remove a Session.
Photos already saved in a deleted Session remain in History, but they no longer show that Session label. Review the affected records before removing organizational containers.
Correct photos assigned to the wrong Session
- Open History.
- Press and hold a photo to begin multi-select.
- Select the other affected photos.
- Tap Move to session.
- Choose an existing Session or create a new one.
The records move together without recreating the images.
Expected result
History should allow you to locate a specific site within a specific field event, even when the same Session name has been used on several dates.
